Liverpool Schools Coding Challenge
A number of our technical students took part in a Liverpool schools coding challenge where they had to complete a series of challenges including coding a sphere to race around a predefined track and coding instructions to get a drone to fly through an obstacle course. Glad to report we won the sphere race, although the drone proved a bit more difficult.
This year our work was focused on the UN sustainable goals and our students view of how to solve some of the global crisis currently affecting us. The gallery shows some of the images taken on the day itself by our student photographers Caleb Byrne Smith and Charlotte Burke.
Visit to Shop Direct offices
Each year we bring our 6th form students to our partner Shop Direct’s offices in Liverpool. We want to show them the working environment and let them know about the degree apprenticeship opportunities at the company. We have 2 ex-students currently on the degree apprenticeships for software engineering and hope for many more in the future.
Meet with Duke of Kent in London
A number of students were selected to show their projects at a conference hosted by the EDGE Foundation in London. The students got to show off their projects to a number of schools in attendance and to the guests of honour for the event; HRH Duke of Kent and Lord Baker.
